Using the first-person perspective, the player can move freely across the world and can show off his creative talents to become the make something unique. Each character has its unique skills, abilities, and play style. There are five playable characters available such as Pepper Roni, Nick Brick, and more. In the game, the player has an option to roam the world freely and build his island, create vehicles using the mechanic known as Bill Ding, or complete a set of challenging missions, including catching an escaped prisoner, pizza delivery, Jet Ski racing, and more. It features non-linear gameplay played from a first-person perspective. The game is marked as the first release in the series of Lego Island video game, serving as the first Lego game to be released outside Japan and following the Lego Fun to Build.
